General Outline to the Workshop
- the structure of the CSW
- how it functions and the political groups, e.g. G-77;
- introduction to major UN documents and how to link and use them for the Beijing+5 Review;
- how to draft an intervention, a lobbying document and how to approach the governments; and possibly, a role play of actual lobbying, or a mock CSW meeting.
Criteria for Participation
- women who will actively participate in lobbying in the CSW and,
- will stay at the CSW for at least two weeks and,
- need training in lobbying.
- a core number of the SC members should attend to discuss lobbying strategies. At least 5 members from the SC should participate.
- allotment of approximately 5 participants from each sub-region. Participants are recommended by the sub-regional representatives.
- participants to the lobbying workshop should be prepared to work as part of the team with the APWW Steering Committee at the CSW meeting.
