Hello Web Working Group, We're about to formally commence the AWORC Interface redesign project! This is the one we talked about last year, and more recently, in February's Face-to-face meeting. The outcome: 1. A fresh AWORC web site to launched at the UN B+5 meeting 2. Design and encoding that is ready for an automated, distributed web publishing system Most, if not all aworc-web-wg members are also involved in WENT2000. Because the two projects coincide, there will be links between our WENT work and how this is presented through the web site. This means some additional workload between now and the start of June, but we must be careful to not "burn out" before the June training! To begin, here is information about the team and the timeline... ===== THE TEAM ===== The aworc-web-wg report (Dec 99) listed overall roles. There are included here to refresh our memories. More specific roles are proposed after the "*" Please let me know if these ideas are reasonable, depending on your other work. Project Manager: Justina Curtis Tasks: AWORC Web project coordination, production methodology * aworc-web-wg fearless leader :) Production Manager: Cheekay Cinco Tasks: Coordinates schedules, deliverables, content and network liaison * Cheekay, you and I will be working closely together. I look to you for input on librarianship, network liaison, what reports or press releases etc to be written, and day-to-day site maintenance issues. Together, we HTML-ise. Also, we can work out print requirements: brochures, letterheads, posters etc... HTML support: Sangkyung Rhee Interface evaluation: Sangkyung Rhee * SK as the Quality Assurance lead - whether the designs work, whether the site looks OK from Korean browsers, and assistance in testing the site before publishing. SK, we may need your help in HTML, although the aim is to keep HTML to a minimum. Technical Design: Pi Villanuava Tasks: development server, systems administrator, technical documentation, technical research and development * Official Isis/AWORC webmaster and technical liaison, to assist in solving technical issues. Interface Design: c2o/outsourced * c2o will provide creative direction, artwork, documentation, and a key support role in implementation of the redesign across the AWORC site.
